Yes, its true folks, I have finally decided to end the free hosting.

What does this mean for you? I am not terminating any existing free hosting accounts.

All free hosting accounts will be bumped into one plan, that offers 1 GB of space and 5 GB of transfer.

All existing free hosting accounts will be left on until you request it be terminated. At this time there is no plan to terminate the free hosting plans or force you to pay for anything.

Talk Host will become more geared towards paid hosting plans and dedicated servers.

The reason behind all this is because of lack of funding, I am making absolutely nothing off of the free hosting. The last few months I have made a total of $10 from google ads, and most of the server cost is being covered by a few partners and the rest out of my own pocket.

We have had a lack of advertising, a lack of interest, and overall a lack of activity in the forums.

I’ll be downsizing the forums a bit to erase the lesser used sections and encourage more thread creation and participation.

Again, I am not going to terminate any free hosting accounts on January 1st.

Also, we are no longer accepting free hosting account sign ups.

Thanks everybody for the great trip, maybe some day we can pick up the free hosting venture again, but for now its really just dead.
